Happy MH Day 2023!
Due to lack of education, persistent taboos and lack of access to sanitation, many women and girls around the world suffer from inadequate menstrual hygiene. Hygolet, as an official supporter of Menstrual Hygiene Day, is committed to improving these circumstances. That’s why we’re celebrating MH Day 2023 on May 28!
About MH Day
Menstrual Hygiene Day is a global platform to improve menstrual hygiene and health. It consists of a network of nearly 1000 non-profit organizations, government agencies, individuals, businesses and media. MH Day originated in 2013, when it was launched by the German non-profit organization WASH United and has been coordinated ever since.
By 2030, MH Day aims to help ensure that no one in the world is impaired due to menstruation. People should be able to menstruate safely, hygienically and without feelings of shame. In addition, every person worldwide should have access to basic information about menstruation, while benefiting from clean water and hygienic sanitation. This requires significantly higher investments in menstrual hygiene and health, such as lowering the VAT on such products.
Our commitment
Hygolet is supporting Menstrual Hygiene Day again this year, not only making a financial contribution but also helping to spread the vision and achieve the organization’s long-term goals. In addition, Hygolet’s name stands for hygiene and cleanliness. Over the years, our product range has been supplemented with products to improve hygiene. With our HygoComfort tampon and pad dispensers, we are committed to improving access to menstrual products in public and semi-public washrooms.
Every order counts
From May 22 to June 2, 2023, we are additionally expanding our commitment to the ZO Women’s Shelter. Because to celebrate Menstrual Hygiene Day on May 28, 2023, Hygolet will donate 2.85 percent of sales from the online store.
For every HygoComfort dispenser sold, one franc already goes to the Frauenhaus Zürcher Oberland. The organization offers victims of physical, physical and sexual violence rapid and unbureaucratic help, protection and safety. At the start of the partnership in 2022, we were able to equip the women’s shelter with HygoComfort dispensers as well as tampons and pads, giving women and girls free and easy access to menstrual products.
Update June 8, 2023: In the almost two weeks of the fundraising campaign, a nice amount was donated to the Frauenhaus Zürcher Oberland thanks to strong sales figures in the online store.
