Hygolet welcomes new hardworking employees
Tens of thousands of new employees strengthen our team in Wetzikon
Many of us at Hygolet are very nature-oriented. This is how the idea arose to actively do something for biodiversity in the beautiful company garden of our headquarters in Wetzikon. Why not promote local species diversity with a few industrious helpers? The answer was obvious: bees!
So we decided to give a few bee colonies a home in our diverse and insect-friendly garden. Our new “employees”, which are indeed almost exclusively female worker bees, have already been industriously at work throughout spring, collecting nectar and pollen.
The buzzing workers now make a valuable contribution to Wetzikon’s biodiversity by pollinating fruit trees, wild flowers and useful plants within a radius of up to three kilometres. They promote species diversity on our company premises, raise awareness of environmental issues amongst our staff, and in future we can even harvest our own Hygolet honey.
We are delighted to have these new industrious little bees with us and look forward to every day when we can observe them at their important work.

Further steps on sustainability
The settlement of our bees is only part of our sustainability strategy. As a Swiss company, we consistently focus on local production and short transport routes. Our product lines Steelline, Steelline Standard as well as a large part of the new Edgeline are “Swiss Made”, just like many of our consumable materials. This local manufacturing not only secures jobs in Switzerland, but also reduces our CO₂ footprint through short distances and guarantees high quality standards. All Swiss Made products can be found here.
The photovoltaic system on the roof of our warehouse produces clean energy and makes us more independent of fossil fuels.
All waste, both in the offices and in the warehouse, is properly recycled. We also take sustainable approaches when it comes to packaging. Thus, old packaging remnants are not disposed of at our premises, but directly recycled into environmentally friendly stuffing material. In this way, we avoid waste and conserve valuable resources. What others regard as rubbish is used by us to ensure the safe dispatch of your dispensers.
For us, these measures are sensible steps that we implement in our daily routine. We know that much remains to be done, but every contribution counts. And when our new little bees industriously fly from blossom to blossom, they constantly remind us of this.
